West Ham are reportedly interested in Fiorentina forward Christian Kouame, who would be an excellent addition to the current Hammers squad.

According to a source from Italy (via KUMB), West Ham have joined the race to sign the Ivory Coast international this summer, when he returns to his parent club Fiorentina at the end of the month following his loan spell with Anderlecht.

After failing to find much game time in the Serie A, the 24-year-old joined Anderlecht last summer and has flourished in Belgium to attract attention from some Europe’s top clubs.

In just the 2021/22 campaign, he scored 13 goals and produced 10 assists to help his side finish third in the league table and qualify for the UEFA Conference League next season.

Under the managerial guidance of former Premier League and Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany, he dominated the league with his quick acceleration and strong hold-up play to give his team goal-scoring opportunities.

Now, the Hammers are reportedly interested in signing him and he could be an excellent fit in this current West Ham squad under David Moyes.

His pace and goal scoring abilities will be vital in a team that thrives on counter-attacking football.

Since arriving in Belgium, he has shown that he has the capabilities to be a vital asset in this Hammers side and provide much-needed competition for Michail Antonio.

If West Ham can agree a reasonable price for the forward, who has already represented his country 10 times, then he could be a great bargain for Moyes.

With the transfer window now officially open, the Hammers need to get their business done early to avoid any repeat of the last few windows where the club haven’t managed to add a forward to their ranks.

Let’s hope Kouame could be West Ham’s answer in the near future.
