West Ham United should consider signing their latest transfer target Eddie Nketiah, who has been in fine form for Arsenal over the past weeks.

The Hammers have been linked with a plethora of strikers from other clubs in preparation for this summer transfer window, with Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah being the latest link.

Sources from the Daily Mail have suggested that David Moyes’ team are in pole position to acquire the signature of the 22-year-old, especially if he rejects a new contract offer from the Gunners.

Nketiah will be out of contract this summer and is yet to sign a new deal, despite rumours that the Gunners have already offered him an extension.

West Ham are reportedly ready to pounce if a contract standoff between the two parties continues, and this could be great news for Hammers fans going forward.

The young striker has been in emphatic form since coming back into the side over the past few weeks, scoring four goals in four matches to help his side go on a winning streak during this spell.

The forward now has nine goals in all competitions, despite only making 25 appearances, with 10 of those coming from the substitute bench.

His lack of game time at the club this season could lead to frustration from his behalf, and his pace, natural finishing and control of the ball could prove vital for the Hammers next year.

Nketiah has already showed West Ham supporters what he can do, after producing a talented display against the club two weeks ago. Despite being unlucky not to score, he showed great prowess and power in attack to challenge the back four.

This would be a good signing for the Hammers, especially if they can capitalise on his contract issues and acquire him as a free transfer.

Paying upwards of £30million would be too excessive for his services, but a free transfer would be shrewd business from West Ham and he could be an excellent asset under David Moyes.
