West Ham have reportedly submitted a £30million bid to bring Chelsea forward Armando Broja to the Hammers, but they might need to bid higher.

According Sky Sports, the Hammers have begun negotiations with their London rivals to acquire the signature of the Albania international.

The 20-year-old forward impressed last season on loan at Southampton, where he scored nine goals in all competitions.

The youngster has reportedly been identified as West Ham’s top striker transfer target this summer, as they look to finally add reinforcements to their forward line.

After the signing of central defender Nayef Aguerd for £30million on Monday, it is apparent that David Moyes wants to continue his summer spending to broaden his squad depth going into the new season.

However, Broja will come at a cost, and West Ham’s bid of £30million might not be enough.

The 6ft 2in  striker will bring excellent finishing attributes to the side and he can be a strong, aerial threat from set-pieces.

On top of this, the youngster highlighted on various occasions last season, including against the Hammers, his composure on the ball and his nifty dribbling skills to get into to dangerous positions.

If he were to come to London Stadium this summer, then West Ham might have to go back to Chelsea with a second offer – as it is difficult to see the Blues letting him go for this price.

In today’s market, especially between clubs that could rival each other next season, the price for a player like Broja could be extortionately high considering his age and potential.

Whether the Hammers will want to spend more is unknown, but it is likely that David Moyes might have to break the bank to sign his top transfer target this summer.
