Out of favour Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic could be the perfect signing for the Hammers, following rumours that West Ham could be interested in signing him.

According to reports in Spain back in April, West Ham could be looking to sign Jovic this summer, after an unsuccessful spell in Spain has left him frustrated with playing time.

The former Enitracht Frankfurt striker, and teammate of ex-Hammer Sebastien Haller, was in emphatic form when he first signed for the La Liga giants back in 2019.

In the 2018/19 season, the Serbia international bagged 27 goals and seven assists in all competitions, helping him seal a £50million move to the Spanish capital.

However, since his transfer, Jovic has rarely stepped foot into the starting XI and now faces increased uncertainty over his future in Spain.

In 51 appearances, he has managed to score only three goals for the club and register five assists, highlighting his lack of confidence playing in the Spanish capital.

The 24-year-old eventually spent the back end of last season on loan with his former club Frankfurt, but struggled to impress in the same way he had when he first moved to the Bundesliga club.

Having said this, West Ham could still benefit from a potential move for Jovic this summer, in the hope that he can return to the same form he showed not too long ago in Germany.

His eye for goal and clinical finishing is not to be doubted, and his quick and strong physique would make him the perfect fit to play in this Hammers team.

Any deal for the talisman would have to be a lot cheaper than the price Madrid paid for him back in 2019, and his wages may also have to be reduced as well.

However, West Ham can still offer him European football and the chance to get back to his former self, all whilst helping the Hammers strive for a top-six finish next season.

Moyes should definitely consider weighing up an offer to sign the young forward this summer, and he could be the marquee signing that West Ham need to place themselves on the map after another successful season.
