We’re back on the Dimitri Payet hype this evening.
We all know how good he’s been since he signed from Marseille in the summer, with neutrals even wondering how on earth we managed to sign the Frenchman.
Payet’s performances have wowed fans all over the country, and he’s contributed heavily to our rise to fourth in the Premier League from the opening nine games of the Premier League season.
He’s scored five goals and assisted three as we continue to surprise the haters with a string of quality performances and a run of five games unbeaten.
But what is surprising (or not, give Payet’s class) is the fact he’s currently ranked as the most creative player in Europe’s top five leagues.
Payet has made more key passes than anyone else in the continent (35), ahead of the likes of Arsenel’s Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla (31 & 27), Chelsea’s Eden Hazard (26) and Southampton’s Dusan Tadic (24).
Not bad for ‘small’ club in East London, eh?
