Kevin Nolan scores at Craven Cottage

Kevin Nolan believes West Ham are confident of a top-half Premier League finish this season, despite winning just three of their last 14 games.

The Hammers skipper, who scored his sixth goal of the season in the 3-1 defeat at Fulham last night has admitted the side is struggling for form but believes it’s only a matter of time before they can turn it around.

He told whufc.com: “We know we’re in a fight, but we’re not looking behind, we’re looking in front and we’re confident that we can still push for that top ten.

“We know we’ve got the quality in there, it’s just not going for us at the moment, whether that’s a referee’s decision or people making a silly little mistake here or there.

“I’m really confident we can turn this around and I’m looking to what I feel is going to be a good end to the season and a good push.”

But Nolan admits that the Hammers must start emulating their form at home while on the road and that the side should have defended better at Craven Cottage.

“What we’ve got to do is take our home performances with us when we go away. We didn’t do that on Wednesday and we have to take it on the chin and look forward to Saturday,” he added.

“Fulham didn’t really cause us many problems throughout the game, but we could have defended it better, we know that and we have got to stick together.”
