Mark Noble looks set to miss the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery this week, according to The Sun.

The homegrown midfielder has been out for three weeks with a trapped nerve but after returning to light training last week has suffered a setback, which has concerned Sam Allardyce and his medical staff.

This setback means Noble may have to wait until next season to make his 250th first-team appearance for the Hammers – he’s currently on 245.

Meanwhile, Matty Taylor has revealed he played against Chelsea with a fractured jaw, caused by the boot of Peter Crouch in the 1-0 win at Stoke two weeks earlier.

He said: “I have a small fracture and it’s a bit sore now.”
