West Ham are desperately seeking additions to their attacking line after a disappointing season and will take their fight to the transfer market.

The Hammers were overly reliant on club-record signing Marko Arnautovic last season, who scored 11 Premier League goals, while Javier Hernandez struggled for consistency in his return to the Premier League.

Speculation continues to suggest the Mexico striker will push for an exit from the London Stadium, increasing West Ham’s need for the capture of a new striker, but they face a stern test for one target in the market.

The Northern Echo names Newcastle United as the latest side to join the hunt for West Brom’s relegated striker Salomon Rondon, who’s available for a fee of £16m due to a clause in his contract.

28-year-old Venezuela international Rondon has done well since arriving in the Premier League three years ago, scoring ten goals last season as he unsuccessfully fought to save the Baggies from the drop.
