Contract & Transfer Situation
Upon signing for West Ham, Fernandes put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract worth a reported £60k-a-week.
In the build-up to the end of his first season at the club, rumours suggested the club were resigned to selling the midfielder due to his high value and ongoing financial issues.
Following West Ham’s relegation to the Championship in May 2026, it was claimed West Ham were hoping to hold out for around £80m for Fernandes’ services, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and PSG all believed to be considering a move for the midfielder.
It is likely Fernandes’ time at West Ham will be reduced to just a single season, which is a shame because the midfielder showed great signs of becoming one of the best midfielders at West Ham for some time.
