West Ham travel to north London on Tuesday night to face Arsenal in the Carabao Cup quarter-final at Emirates Stadium.

New Hammers boss David Moyes has managed to improve the club’s league form in recent weeks, leading the club to an unlucky defeat away at Man City before beating Champions Chelsea 1-0, drawing 0-0 with Arsenal and beating Stoke City 3-0 in the last three games.

Such form has dramatically improved the east London club’s fortunes having initially been one of the favourites to be relegated to the Championship just a few weeks ago.

Now West Ham are a much more confident outfit and will be looking to reach a third League Cup semi-final in six years with victory over the Gunners.

Although a cup run may be the last thing West Ham needs at the moment, given the importance of remaining in the Premier League, they have a great opportunity to win their first piece of silverware since 1980.

Match Odds

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is known to use this competition to field a weakened team in the past and that will boost West Ham’s confidence on Tuesday night.

West Ham’s lack of strength in depth means they are not able to rotate and rest as many players as they perhaps would like, which should increase their chances of winning against a much weaker Gunners side.

However, Arsenal remain favourites to win this one with SkyBet, who have them at 3/5 to win in 90 minutes, while West Ham are priced at 17/4. The draw is 3/1.

Team News

Joe Hart is expected to start ahead of Adrian after being demoted to the bench in league competition for the last four games.

Other than that West Ham are expected to field a strong XI.

For Arsenal, Theo Walcott is expected to start for the Gunners but Aaron Ramsey remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
