West Ham United winger Andriy Yarmolenko scored the goal that proved to be the winner against Portugal, securing top spot in Euro 2020 qualifying for Ukraine.

In the 27th minute, the 29-year-old made his way into the box to meet Vitaliy Mykolenko’s low cross, clinically putting it past Rui Patricio with a first-time effort, as shown in the video on West Ham’s Twitter account.

After the game, the Hammers also tweeted a congratulatory message for Yarmolneko and his teammates:

The replies to the tweets saw plenty of love being shown from West Ham fans, as they congratulated a man who has become a very popular figure at London Stadium.

Yarmolenko has performed admirably in claret and blue since returning from injury, as in 6 Premier League starts and 1 substitute appearances this campaign, he has managed 3 goals from the wing, as per WhoScored.

Now that he has added such a significant goal in the yellow of Ukraine to his season tally, many Hammers fans are hoping he will be able to continue his form against Everton on Saturday.
