West Ham have endured a difficult season but one of the shining lights has been the performances of Marko Arnautovic.
Arriving on a club-record fee from Stoke City last summer, the Austria international initially struggled for form and consistency at the London Stadium but turned a corner after David Moyes’ appointment in November.
Arnautovic finished the campaign with 11 goals and six assists in the Premier League, winning the club’s Player of the Year award, and it seems the performances of the 29-year-old have not gone unnoticed.
Gianluca Di Marzio sensationally claim that Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are considering a move for Arnautovic, despite their wealth of attacking talent at Old Trafford.
Alexis Sanchez joined the Red Devils in January to add to an attacking line that already included Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial, though it’s widely reported the latter is on his way out.
With United able to offer Champions League football, it may be difficult not to catch Arnautovic’s attention but West Ham will expect a significant increase on the reported £25m fee they paid last year.
