It’s fair to say most of the talk around West Ham this summer has been about who’s coming in — and rightly so.
With Mohammed Kudus making a blockbuster switch to Spurs, there’s a big creative hole in the squad that needs addressing, and Graham Potter is wasting no time reshaping his side.
Kyle Walker-Peters and El Hadji Malick Diouf have already arrived, bringing both Premier League experience and youthful versatility to the fold. Callum Wilson is reportedly set to join to solve the striker problem, while a new goalkeeper is firmly at the top of Potter’s wishlist too, with names like Mads Hermansen and Zion Suzuki on the shortlist.
Throw in links to midfielders like Jacob Ramsey and former Arsenal man Fabio Vieira, and things are really starting to click.
But while the focus has been largely on new faces… the Hammers may not be done with big-name exits just yet.
Man City Maintain Paquetá Interest

According to a fresh report from Ge Globo, Manchester City have officially informed West Ham they still hold strong interest in signing Lucas Paquetá this summer.
City had a £70 million-plus bid rejected by the Hammers back in 2023, and while a second, larger offer was expected, the move collapsed after Paquetá was caught up in a betting investigation.
With that saga now behind him — and the Brazil international cleared of wrongdoing — Pep Guardiola’s side are understood to have reignited their interest, with Paquetá still firmly on their radar.
There’s been no formal offer yet, but Ge claim West Ham are bracing for one, and have made it clear they’ll only part ways with the 26-year-old if they receive a fee in the region of £50-£60 million, including bonuses.
Losing Paquetá would be a devastating blow. Flamengo manager Felipe Luís — who’s long been a fan and recently admitted he’d love to bring Paquetá back to Brazil — recently described him simply as “quality.” For West Ham, he’s been much more than that: the heartbeat of the midfield and a game-changer in the final third.
If Kudus’ departure hurt, this one would sting even more.
