West Ham’s hunt for a new No.1 is showing no signs of slowing down, as Graham Potter pushes to strengthen a position that caused real concern last season.
With Lukasz Fabianski gone and Alphonse Areola struggling to convince as a reliable starter, the goalkeeper situation has become one of the most urgent issues to address. As club insider ExWHUEmployee recently confirmed, securing a new first-choice keeper is now the top item on Potter’s summer agenda.
“I can report that the main priority for the club this week is securing a new goalkeeper,” Ex said earlier this week.
The shortlist has been well documented — Zion Suzuki of Parma and Sheffield United’s Michael Cooper are both on the radar — but it’s Leicester City’s Mads Hermansen who may now be leading the race.
Mads Hermansen “Keen” on West Ham Move

Despite suffering relegation with the Foxes last season, Hermansen emerged as one of their standout performers, starting 27 Premier League games and showing the kind of composure and shot-stopping ability that earned him praise from former top-flight goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, who described him as “brilliant.”
Now, speaking via The West Ham Way, ExWHUEmployee has provided a major update on the club’s pursuit of the Danish international. Encouragingly, West Ham believe a deal can be done.
“It now appears that the club feel confident that they will be able to get a bid accepted for Hermansen,” he said.
Leicester reportedly value Hermansen at around £30 million, which is above West Ham’s current valuation of £18–25 million. However, there’s belief behind the scenes that a compromise can be found.
More importantly, the player himself is pushing for the move.
“The player is keen to join the club and our new keeper coach is credited with developing him as a player at Brøndby and hopes they will be reunited soon,” Ex added.
With personal terms unlikely to be an issue and an existing relationship with West Ham’s new goalkeeper coach in place, the pieces may well be falling into place for the Hammers to land their new No.1.
