West Ham United face a critical January transfer window as they attempt to turn around a disappointing season.
The Hammers remain perilously close to the relegation zone, struggling at both ends of the pitch, and reinforcements will be essential.
Questions have arisen about which players will stay and which might leave, especially given financial pressures and squad reshuffles.
One player, however, is now confirmed to be untouchable.
‘Zero Chance’ Paquetá Will Leave West Ham

Lucas Paquetá has been a standout performer for West Ham since joining the club, and a source close to the Brazilian midfielder has confirmed to Claret & Hugh that there is “zero chance” he will depart the club this January.
Speculation has linked Paquetá with a move away, with reports suggesting potential suitors including Aston Villa and Manchester City had expressed interest. Betting allegations and other off-field issues have added to the rumours, but internally, Nuno Espirito Santo is said to view Paquetá as the Hammers’ most important player.
The Brazilian, described as a “maverick” by former Hammers boss David Moyes, has already contributed four goals this season and has been crucial in linking midfield and attack, providing creativity and drive at a time when West Ham have struggled to score consistently.
Nuno is reportedly adamant that Paquetá will remain at the club, insisting that no loan or permanent sale will be sanctioned in the coming window.
While West Ham do anticipate generating some transfer funds from the sale of a minority stake in the women’s team to American investors, as well as offloading fringe squad members, Paquetá is not part of any such plans.
His importance to the side’s survival hopes makes him untouchable, and fans can expect him to be central to the fight against relegation in the second half of the season.
