West Ham United joint chairman David Gold has come under fire with plenty of criticism recently for his comments on the youth players at the club.
Gold believes that the teenagers at the club do not have a chance of breaking into a first team set-up full of “seasoned internationals”.
This enraged West Ham fans who had been hoping to see the likes of Declan Rice and Domingos Quina handed opportunities in the first team.
Hammers fans argued that this completely undermined our youth team set-up and rather than backtracking, Gold continued to put forward his case.
Now David Gold appears to have relented a bit by tweeting that West Ham have the most talented bunch of teenagers in over a decade.
We think we have the best group of teenagers for over a decade. Time will tell. dg

However, West Ham fans believe that Gold is just continuing to dig his hole.
Here are a selection of the best responses to this tweet from the joint chairman.
@davidgold Just stop tweeting mate.

@davidgold The difference is, in the past, all those teenagers were given a go. Lampard. Joe Cole. Carrick. Johnson. We need to give them PL experience
