There was plenty of reasons for West Ham fans to be disappointed last season and one player who didn’t perform to the required standard was Joe Hart.

The goalkeeper joined on-loan from Manchester City but failed to impress at the London Stadium, leading the Hammers to snub the opportunity to make the move permanent.

Capped 75 times by England, Hart was also overlooked by Gareth Southgate for the World Cup in Russia and now faces a fierce test to get his career back-on-track.

Portuguese outlet Record states that Hart is ready to turn his back on English football and is eyeing a move to the continent, where Sporting Lisbon are interested in his services.

The European side are in turmoil after a number of bizarre incidents, which included the club president criticising the players and fans storming to training ground to attack members of the squad.

As such, a number of departures are expected from the Portuguese giants this summer and Hart is seen as an ideal replacement for Portugal international Rui Patricio.
