West Ham United’s move for Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario could be back on the cards, according to Sky Sports News.
West Ham are targeting reinforcements in central midfield and one of their latest transfer targets is Joao Mario.
They are hoping to capture the out of favour Inter Milan midfielder on a loan deal until the end of the season.
However, reports yesterday suggested that Mario had turned down the loan move to West Ham.
But today, he is said to be reconsidering his options and is growing on the idea of moving to East London.
The Portugal international has only played 15 games for Inter Milan this year as they prefer other options.
The Serie A giants are willing to let Mario leave on a loan deal with an option to buy – something which the Hammers are interested in as they can run the rule over the midfielder in the league before deciding whether to invest in him next summer.
The 24-year-old previously represented Sporting CP in Portugal and was a major part of the successful Euro 2016 campaign with his national side.
However, with his career stalling at Inter Milan, it may be time he moved away from the San Siro with West Ham lurking and able to offer him game time.
