The transfer saga of whether West Ham will sign Maxi Gómez has been going on for quite some time now.
ExWHUEmployee has been reporting on this throughout the entire summer transfer window, with the topic being a constant talking point – due to the fact the Uruguayan is the Hammers’ top target.
Though it seems he can’t wait for the whole saga to come to an end:
Yep it’s probably the most boring thing I’ve ever tried to report on. Hundreds of accounts guessing and claiming to know. Its going to be even worse on here if he doesn’t join! https://t.co/sdg0uGdxKk

It’s hard to blame him, as he must get multiple messages about the same topic every day, when he – and most people – aren’t sure of exactly what the stance is because of how rapidly it has been changing.
The striker, who scored 13 La Liga goals last season, has been away on holiday which probably hasn’t helped proceedings – though ExWHUEmployee does think a decision should be made by Wednesday.
Many fans will be hoping that is the case, as they just want the transfer to be completed – whatever way the 22-year-old goes.
If he signs then Hammers fans will be able to celebrate getting their new signing, if he doesn’t at least everyone knows and focus can be moved onto other targets.
A selection of Twitter reaction to the statement can be seen below:
Mate you always do your best to provide up to date and accurate information for all the WHUFC fans. Most, if not all of us more than appreciate all you do. I’m just hoping a decision is made soon by Gomez so you don’t have to answer any more questions about where it stands.

Regardless of the outcome for me the intent is so important. I feel like I support a club looking forwards and up the table. It makes a very welcome change.

The most painful transfer i can remember is there a point where we just walk away so we dont jeopardise other possible signings

Doesn’t help when parent club in Spain, bidding teams in Spain and England and the actual player is in South America!!!

It’s painful. It’s been taking over West Ham twitter for way too long. I like the fact there has been a serious genuine attempt at this target. I just hope there is a genuinely thought out plan B and C.

Ive seen fake media images and photo’s appearing everywhere all claiming 1 thing or another.
