As the last historic season at the Boleyn Ground it has certainly developed into one of the most exciting we have seen for a long time.

The usual post-Christmas blues that have so often afflicted most West Ham sides over many years seem a distant memory.

Instead of dreary performances and inconsistent football, we have elevated the way we are playing this year. Slaven Bilic is improving the side on the pitch and the board is doing what a board should do and continue to market the club, balance the budget and bring success to our team on and off the field. Happy days.

Last weekend we produced yet another stirring and inspiring performance against a Manchester City side that were made to look pretty average. Dimitri Payet was the chief conductor again where his skills made the million dollar City players look like extras from the Muppet show.

This weekend we head up to Anfield to play Liverpool for the third time this season. I think it would be fair to say that we would rather not have had Liverpool again let alone an away fixture, in spite of the two wins over them this year.

They are a very hard side to play against up there, but you have to beat the very best on the way to Wembley and have a little bit of lady luck on your side. If we hit them early and go out strong and focussed, the crowd will get unsettled, passes will miss their targets and this could knock Liverpool’s frail confidence rapidly.

Predicting a Bilic XI against Liverpool is tricky but we have strong squad available, so let’s have a look at what the side may look like. What do you think? Who do you think should be rested or who should come in? Should we have some one or two youngsters on the bench?
