Is this West Ham’s Dream XI after the transfer window closes?

Were almost in to the final 24 hours of this summer transfer window and it’s been a pretty good one for us.

Of course, the club tried and ultimately failed to deliver on their marquee signing promise, but there’s no denying the capture of Simone Zaza is an exciting one.

We also made Manuel Lanzini’s loan spell a permanent one and then brought in the likes of Sofiane Feghouli, Ashley Fletcher, Arthur Masuaku, Gokhan Tore and record-signing Andre Ayew among others.

With just one more player needed at right-back, here’s a look at what our dream XI might look like once the window slams shut and we have a fully fit squad…

Adrian

Darren Randolph is a class keeper, but Adrian is still our first choice stopper and deservedly so.

Sam Byram

Sam Byram has impressed at right-back so far this season and already looks a solid addition after taking some time to be given an extended run of games since signing in January. We do still need a back up, but I think Byram should be first choice.

Winston Reid

Has to be the first choice centre-back at the club at the moment, and there’s no arguing otherwise. A solid defender.

Angelo Ogbonna

Ogbonna and James Collins could be rotated throughout the season, but for me Ogbonna is the stronger and more assured defender – although no one would begrudge Collins being picked ahead of him.

Aaron Cresswell/Arthur Masuaku

Aaron Cresswell will undoubtedly return to the first team as soon as he’s fit again, but Masuaku has arrived at the club and already looks a shrewd addition at just £6m. It’s great that Cresswell has some serious competition, which he hasn’t really needed since he signed for the club.

Michail Antonio

Play Antonio at right wing and he will score. Most of the time anyway. Antonio is a no brainer at right wing, and we’ve also got Sofiane Feghouli and Gokhan Tore to slot in there as well. Solid.

Mark Noble

Captain fantastic. Mr. West Ham. Enough said.

Manuel Lanzini

We’ve missed Lanzini so far this season and we all know how crucial he is to us, particularly when playing alongside Dimitri Payet. When he can’t play, Andre Ayew could happily slot in. Strength in depth.

Dimitri Payet

No explanation needed – just need to hide him somewhere for the next few hours!

Cheikhou Kouyate

Our driving force in midfield last season and he has been solid for us already this term. He’s one of the few players in the team that we miss when he doesn’t play, which says a lot about his ability and importance to the side.

Simone Zaza

I genuinely think Zaza is the 20-goal-a-season striker we’ve been craving for so long. Of course, that’s why the club have bought him, but some fans still remain apprehensive of his ability to do it in the Premier League. Only time will tell, but he’s certainly got enough about him to be a huge success.
