The fans were told Slaven Bilic will be naming a “strong starting XI” for tonight’s Europa League clash FC Astra.

And this afternoon young Jack Sullivan has confirmed that there is indeed a very strong side preparing themselves for the game at the Boleyn Ground.

So, what exactly is a ‘strong starting XI’ at the moment?

Diafra Sakho and James Tomkins are suspended, which is a pain, but Angelo Ogbonna and Dimitri Payet are both expected to make their debuts tonight, while Enner Valencia should also make his first competitive appearance of the season.

It will be a surprise to see Carl Jenkinson handed a start so soon after returning to training and you’d think Kevin Nolan would be dropped for the someone like young Diego Poyet.

Other than that, it’s pretty much straight forward. Some would perhaps suggest swapping Noble and Kouyate, which would be fair, but it’s still as close as we’re going to get to a strongest XI this evening.

What do you think? Would you like to see us use the below line up tonight? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below…

  1. No problem , I would give Lee a start instead of za rate , all I’ve seen him do so far is try to
do it all on his own, Lee can play as a team player !!! Although za rate is talented he is’nt playing for the team but trying to impress bilic , that’s the impression I get anyway ,
Maybe right maybe not but that’s just my opinion.

  2. I apologise if that comes across as narky, but too many times have I seen people that comment under my articles without clearly reading the article first. I understand this isn’t the case.

  3. U trying to say that’s gospel or just you’re point of view.
Jenkinson looked super fit last time he played,’
So where you getting you’re info’
All kp said was what he thought so don’t get narky with the read it bit.

  4. Jenkinson was not unfit if anything he is one of the fitest players to choose from having been on england duty,
Also he’s been back long enough to get toned back up.
That’s way I asked where’s jenks cos what you wrote did’nt make any sense !

  5. Why not Jenks for O’Brien? Other than that I’m happy as long as Nolan isn’t playing.
