Is this how West Ham will line up against Spurs?
Much has been made of our injury problems and questions have been raised of Sam Allardyce’s ability to adopt the attacking philosophy demanded by the co-owners.
But he managed to play an surprising, but interesting, 3-5-2 against Sampdoria last weekend and, dare I say it, we looked good. And that’s without a full squad to pick from.
The addition of Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho I think could prove to be very shrewd business, while Andy Carroll’s return over the Christmas period should also give us a boost.
Aaron Cresswell has impressed immensely during pre-season, while Cheikhou Kouyate looks to be the beastly defensive midfielder we’ve been looking for a while now.
Mohamed Diame should get his spot back in the middle of the park, although it appears Kevin Nolan’s spot in the team still looks as safe as houses.
Correctly predicting the starting XI Allardyce will go with isn’t easy. Will he revert back to what he knows, he go with the same approach as last weekend? Let’s hope it’s the latter.
