Is this how West Ham should line up against Burnley today?
There’s been a lot of talk about whether Sam Allardyce should change a winning side today.
We’ve been in great form recently and although the win over QPR wasn’t the impressive of displays, it was as comfortable is it could be against Burnley this afternoon should Big Sam get his tactics spot on again (feels weird typing that!).
Our strength in depth means that the returning Mark Noble, Guy Demel and James Collins could all find themselves named on the bench today without us really being affected by their absence from the starting XI.
And it’s Mark Noble’s place in the side that has got everyone talking. We’ve clearly missed his presence in midfield over the last two games despite decent performances without him. But should he walk straight back in to the side after recovering from his calf injury?
With Kevin Nolan seemingly a bench player from now on, Mark Noble is his natural successor in terms of wearing the captain’s armband. But then Alex Song has taken that role on perfectly while Noble was sidelined. So Allardyce clearly has a bit of a dilemma on his hands.
Does he change a winning side to accommodate Noble’s return? Or does he stick with the side that beat QPR so comfortably two weeks ago?
