West Ham face a summer of significant upheaval in the months ahead, as the Hammers look to improve their fortunes after another difficult campaign.
Manuel Pellegrini has arrived to provide a breath of fresh air at the London Stadium and is likely to eye improvements in the attacking areas, where the club were overly reliant on Marko Arnautovic.
Javier Hernandez, signed from Bayer Leverkusen, struggled for consistency in his return to the Premier League and ended the campaign as a bit-part player as the east London side retained their Premier League status.
Speculation on the future of the Mexico striker has been rife in recent months and the former Manchester United man has done little to fan the flames, stating his decision will be made after the World Cup.
Quoted by Sky Sports, the striker said:
“Of course I am a West Ham player still, but we’ll see.”
“Right now what can I tell you? I’m glad there’s a new manager? I’m sad there’s a new manager? It’s not the moment to speak about this. My mind is 100 per cent on the World Cup.”
