West Ham United are in pole position to land Henry Onyekuru.

The in-demand winger is set to fly to London to discuss personal terms and possibly undergo a medical, the Daily Mail are reporting.

While West Ham are still discussing a fee with KAS Eupen for Onyekuru, it is believed that the East London outfit have edged ahead of a number of competitors in the race for his signature.

Plenty of Premier League clubs could be about to miss out on the 20-year-old, including European giants Arsenal.

With Onyekuru keen to move to a club who will give him game time, West Ham are looking to take advantage of this.

There may still be question marks over whether he will be granted a work permit but the Hammers are set to open negotiations with the talented young attacker anyway.

The Nigerian international was extremely impressive in the Belgian top division last season, playing as either a winger or as a central striker.

After scoring 25 goals and adding 14 assists for a lower mid-table side, Onyekuru has become one of the hottest prospects in European football.

The Hammers can reportedly tie up this deal if they shell out £7m and pay the starlet £35k per week.
