West Ham are leading the race to bring former Everton and Portsmouth loanee Manuel Fernandes back to the Premier League, according to Mirror Football.

The 27-year-old midfielder signed for Turkish side Besiktas in 2011 after loan spells with Pompey and Everton and it is thought he is eager for a permanent move back to the Premier League this summer.

The Portuguese international is also being tracked by Sunderland and Everton, but Mirror Football believes the Hammers are favourites to secure his signature.

It is believed Sam Allardyce is hopeful of brining him back to England to bolster his attacking options both up front and out wide.

Fernandes has also enjoyed spells with Benfica – where he began his career – and Valencia, while he has also earned nine caps for Portugal, scoring two goals.
