West Ham have secured the signing of AC Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino on loan until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old Italian international has been brought in by Sam Allardyce to help the club pull away from the relegation zone.

And Nocerino’s experience should prove vital to the Hammers’ efforts to staying in the Premier League, having played for the likes of Juventus and Palermo, as well as for Italy in Euro 2012.

Nocerino began his career at Juventus in 2003 and made just 32 appearances for them during a spell that saw him loaned out to six different clubs.

In 2008 Nocerino moved to Palermo in a €7.5million deal. He went on to make 106 appearances for Rosanero, scoring six goals, helping them qualifying for the Europa League.

And Nocerino made a dramatic transfer deadline swith to AC Milan in August 2011 for a mere €500,000, going on to score 12 goals in 71 Serie A appearances before his arrival in East London.

Here’s what the fans have said about his arrival on Twitter…
