West Ham are preparing a surprise move for Inter Milan striker Diego Milito, according to talkSPORT.

The 34-year-old Argentina international is out of contract in the summer and it is believed Inter may be willing to let him leave on the cheap in the January transfer window.

And Sam Allardyce is reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing the experienced hit-man to Upton Park to help out with the club’s current striker shortage.

Milito’s experience could be just what the Hammers need to pull themselves away from the Premier League drop-zone after only managing to net 13 times in their opening 15 league fixtures.

Since signing from Genoa in 2009, Milito has scored 77 goals in 154 first-team appearances for Inter.
