West Ham are set to go head-to-head with Tottenham again – this time for the signature of Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 19-year-old has impressed for the Ligue 1 side this season and has attracted the attention of both London clubs who are understood to have sent scouts to watch him.
Sam Allardyce sees him as a player who can strengthen his defence next season as the Hammers edge closer to securing their Premier League safety.
But Spurs will undoubtedly be favourites to tempt the French left-back to London having been impressed with his performances against them in the Europa League, especially after he scored a screamer from the edge of the area at White Hart Lane (watch below).
However, cash-strapped Lyon are understood to only be willing to listen to offers of at least £10million, which would suit Spurs more than it would West Ham.
