West Ham have been handed a home draw against Crewe Alexandra in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

The Hammers will be hoping to improve on their League Cup showing last season, where they lost 2-1 at home to Aldershot Town.

West Ham haven’t met Crewe since a 1-1 draw in the Championship in 2005, a game that saw Teddy Sheringham’s opener cancelled out by a Steve Jones injury time equaliser.

The tie will take place in the week commencing 27 August.
