Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has sensationally admitted that he was close to signing for West Ham before he was brought to England by Jose Mourinho.
The Ivorian striker signed for Chelsea from Guingamp in 2004 and went on take be an influential figure in them winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League, scoring 157 goals in 341 appearances in all competitions.
But the current Galatasaray striker has admitted he almost signed for the Hammers – Glenn Roeder was the manager interesting in him at the time, which would have dramatically changed his career and, arguably, West Ham’s fortunes.
He told The Mirror: “That was two hears before moving to Chelsea. I could have gone there.”
And Hammers fans are obviously feeling gutted that they missed out on one of Europe’s most prolific strikers…
So ridiculously upsetting to read that Drogba could have joined West Ham two years before he joined Chelsea

Shall we push the boat out for this Drogba bloke, Glenn? Nah. We can always play Ian Pearce up front. http://t.co/oou4l2lAs3 #WHUFC
