West Ham United have confirmed on the club’s official website that Adrian has signed a new deal with the club.

Adrian was due to leave West Ham this summer on a free transfer with this contract running out but he has committed his future to the East London outfit.

Adrian joined West Ham in summer 2013 and it took him half a season before he replaced Jussi Jaaskelainen as the number one choice between the sticks.

Since then, the eccentric Spaniard has become a fans’ favourite with some match-winning performances and passionate displays.

The former Real Betis stopper lost his place in the West Ham starting XI earlier this season when Darren Randolph replaced him.

However, Adrian was recalled recently after a number of error prone displays from Randolph and he kept three clean sheets in his first three matches back in goal.

The 30-year-old has twice come runner up in the Hammer of the Year award and his fine performances have seen him called up to the Spain squad earlier this season.

West Ham have activated a clause in Adrian’s contract to keep him at the club until summer 2019 and now Darren Randolph’s future looks doubtful.
