It has come to WestHamWorld.co.uk‘s attention that when Jose Fonte returns from injury, he will leave the club in a £6m deal to join the Portuguese revolution at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo has been linked with a number of Portuguese talent in this window and is looking to get some vital Premier League experience to boost their promotion hopes in readiness for a return to the top-flight next season.
The West Midlands club are 10 points clear at the top of the ‘3rd most attended league in Europe’ and have only conceded 20 goals so far this term.
A source close to West Ham World has said: “Wolves are looking to invest in a big name signing to score more goals but more importantly get two experienced defensive players to further improve our hard to beat mentality.
“We [Wolves] are unbeaten in the league since October and we intend to finish the season this way”.
Could Jose Fonte leaving the club after 12 months enable the club to invest in another defender this window? Or should Moyes show some faith in his U23 players to give them a platform to perform.
Perhaps this would give Reece Oxford a chance to impress?
