Jelle Vossen

We failed in an attempt to land the Belgian striker from Genk on deadline day in January because their asking price was a stumbling block. This appears to be a repeat story but rumours linking us with a move persist. His movement is his biggest asset from what I’ve seen; he gets into positions where he can score goals. The 25-year-old has 2 international goals in 12 games but we must really ask ourselves if we want to spend upwards of £10m on a striker who failed to make the Belgian World Cup squad even when Benteke was injured. I think that we should use our funds elsewhere and that this is an unlikely option for us.
