The start of a new era at West Ham United has seen a marvellous opening day win against Arsenal at the Emirates, before two disappointing consecutive home defeats at the hands of Leicester City and newly promoted AFC Bournemouth respectively.
With a change of style from previous boss Sam Allardyce, predecessor Slaven Bilic has opted for a 4-4-2 diamond formation when required.
This obviously worked against the Gunners, but in the previous two games where we have massively underperformed, the need for added bite in midfield, especially wingers, is definitely needed at Upton Park.
So, here are five midfield options West Ham should consider buying before the transfer window slams shit in nine days…

Now at Chelsea, with loan spells at Liverpool and Stoke City in between, Moses looks surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, even more so now that Pedro has arrived from FC Barcelona.
Blessed with pace, skill, flair and strength, Moses is the exact tonic that the Hammers needed in the last two matches.
As well as his much needed attributes, Moses is extremely capable of performing to the highest quality on either flanks and just behind the striker, or in Bilic’s system, at the head of the diamond.
Still only 24-years-old, a bid of around £7m should be enough for Jose Mourinho to even consider persuading the attacker to switch from West to East London.

Last season, while on loan from Barcelona, the former Arsenal defensive midfielder mad his position in the Hammers set up his own for the first five months of the season.
His composure on the ball, awareness and vital interceptions were fundamental in last year’s memorable wins at home against Manchester City and Liverpool, where he was virtually unplayable.
However, with the former Cameroon international injured and an inconsistent end to the 2014/2015 campaign, can Bilic help Song regain the magnificent form he once showed the magnificent Hammers faithful?

Surely a move to the Hammers would be more appealing to the Black Cats?
However, Everton could also be stiff competition for his signature, but for a player of Januzaj’s quality with an uncertain future at Old Trafford ahead, then it’s worth an £8m punt.
The Belgium international’s strike away at Aston Villa on the second day of the season proved he still has potential to fulfil.
What the 20-year-old needs is regular first team football and West Ham will be the perfect place for him to develop, especially with the exciting move to the Olympic Stadium next season.

Let’s not forget Young was on the verge of joining the Hammers in 2007 when his previous club Watford were relegated from the Premier League. However, Young opted to sign for a different team in claret and blue – Aston Villa.
He became an instant hit at Villa Park, scoring 30 goals in 157 games, resulting in a move to Old Trafford for a fee in the region of £15m.
With his contract with Louis Van Gaal’s side due to expire next season, the 30-year-old’s deadly crossing exploits on the either wing and from dead ball situations will most certainly help Diafra Sakho, as well as bag a few goals himself.
Once more, the most West Ham would have to pay is half of the £15m United paid for him four years ago.
Could it become a bargain of the season?

The tricky winger frightens the life out of opposing full back’s on a weekly basis, and results in punishing the opposition in tremendous fashion.
The England U21 starlet proved this by notching on the opening day of the season for Norwich City in a 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace. The following week, Redmond tormented Sunderland in a 3-1 away win, getting himself on the scoresheet once again.
In Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Stoke City at Carrow Road, Redmond caused many problems and if wasn’t for his fellow England U21 teammate Jack Butland having an extraordinary game, then the Canaries would’ve won the match.
West Ham are looking for a star in the making, and Redmond is the perfect fit.
