Over the past few seasons, West Ham have always looked to get one or two players on loan as well as making permanent signings.
Carl Jenkinson and Alex Song are the two current loanees in our squad and we have previously seen successful loan stints from Henri Lansbury and Andy Carroll, for example.
However, we have had our fair share of underwhelming loan deals – Roger Johnson, Emanuel Pogatetz and Marouane Chamakh are three prime examples in recent years.
Alongside a number of permanent new arrivals, we will inevitably look to the loan market for an extra two or three players so it is of vital importance that we swoop well and make the signings worthwhile.
