West Ham’s rebuild this summer is continuing following the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini and a dedicated right-hand man to the Chilean boss is set to join him at the London Stadium.
Claret & Hugh report that Enzo Maresca will leave his current role with Sevilla to move to the Premier League – and it’s added elsewhere that he rejected the chance to take charge of the Andalusian side’s B team.
Maresca worked as assistant to Vincenzo Montella in Seville this season, though he lost his job at the end of the campaign, and has played under Pellegrini previously.
The Italian featured in Pellegrini’s Malaga side and enjoyed a successful career, winning five honours with Sevilla and also having a taste of Premier League action with West Brom.
It’s understood he will sign a three-year deal to join Pellegrini at the London Stadium in part of a major coaching overhaul, which could also see Ruben Cousillas is join as assistant, calongside fitness coach Jose Cabello and goalkeeping coach Xabier Mancisidor.
