New West Ham signing Maxwell Cornet was unveiled in front of a record London Stadium crowd on Sunday afternoon.

Following a capacity expansion to 62,500 during the summer, the Hammers got their new Premier League campaign in front of a record home attendance as David Moyes’ side lost 2-0 to champions Manchester City.

And following his arrival from Burnley on Friday afternoon, Cornet was paraded in front of the Hammers faithful before kick-off against Manchester City, with the Ivorian soaking in the welcoming applause and holding a Hammers scarf aloft in admiration.

The 25-year-old took to Instagram shortly afterwards to say “no words can describe the feeling” as he marked his unveiling with photos of him acknowledging the London Stadium.

And club captain Declan Rice was quick to send Cornet a message in the comments, saying “let’s go bro” alongside love heart and flame emojis.
