Recent reports have been linking Chelsea with a move for West Ham United striker Andy Carroll and today Sky Sports News revealed that the Blues have made contact over this transfer.
West Ham are not thinking about loaning out the 29-year-old and will hold out for a sizeable transfer fee too.
But according to this report, West Ham would also consider an exchange deal.
West Ham want to sign Michy Batshuayi as part of any deal which sees Carroll head to Stamford Bridge, although they face competition from Sevilla, who also want Batshuayi.
The Belgium international has been a West Ham target in the past and Chelsea do not seem to want to play him.
West Ham fans took to Twitter to discuss their thoughts and ideas on this potential switch with the majority of fans favouring this move.
Here are a selection of the best responses after fans heard the news that Batshuayi could be included in a deal which would see Carroll join Chelsea.
This may be our only chance to get rid of Carroll for a lot of money too. Gotta do it, he may be a good impact player but what’s the point in keeping a player who plays like 4 games a season. Get as much money for him and try to get Batshuayi as part of the deal.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I’d rather have Carroll than Batshuayi. Batshuayi has flopped for Chelsea and Carroll at least is always a threat when he plays!
Rather keep Carroll than bring in Batshuayi! #WHUFC #COYI

Agree with you. I dont rate Batshuayi at all, he was good at France but I dont think he is good at PL

Did Batshuayi really flop? He’s just not used enough, and when he played, he was good. Faster, less injury prone and more clinical then Carroll as well.
