West Ham intend to reignite their interest in Leander Dendoncker this summer after failing to secure a deal for the 22-year-old in January, as reported by MirrorFootball.

It is no secret that the midfield is one of the team’s major weaknesses and requires big investment during the summer transfer window.

It is believed at least two midfielders will be on David Moyes’ wish list ahead of next season, and Dendoncker clearly stands out as a name on top of the Scot’s list given his continued interest in securing his services.

Dendoncker – who is valued at £16.2m by transfermarkt.com – is widely hailed as one of the most promising young central midfielders in Europe right now and can also play as a centre-half, which increases his attractiveness to Moyes given his need to strengthen his defence as well.

It is not yet known how much Anderlecht would be willing to accept before allowing the Belgian to depart for east London in the summer but it was reported by The Sun in January that they were holding out for just £20m.

In the same report, MirrorFootball claim Fiorentina are plotting a summer move for Pedro Obiang after failing to act on interest in the Spaniard during the January transfer window.
