David Moyes is set to hit at least one milestone tonight but could make it two if the Hammers find the back of the net.
West Ham’s Premier League fixture against Watford at London Stadium on Tuesday night will be Moyes’ 100th game in charge of the Hammers since his return to the club in December 2019.
The transformation he has overseen during that period has been nothing short of sensational. When he came back to replace Manuel Pellegrini, West Ham were just outside of the bottom three and in complete disarray on the pitch, having registered just two wins in their last 14 outings in all competitions.
Moyes oversaw a rampant 4-0 home victory over Bournemouth in his first game and ultimately guided West Ham to Premier League safety.
In his first full season back he developed West Ham into top-four contenders, eventually finishing 6th in the Premier League and qualifying for the Europa League group stages for the first time in the club’s history, setting club records for most wins and most points in a Premier League season in the process.
It has been much of the same this term, too, with West Ham currently 5th in the table, in the last-16 of the Europa League and the 5th-round of the FA Cup.
The other milestone Moyes could reach as West Ham manager tonight is 200 goals scored under his stewardship across his two spells as boss.
Over the course of his two spells, Moyes has managed 130 games (57 wins, 28 draws, 45 defeats), with his teams scoring 199 goals and conceding 168.
With these two milestones set to be hit imminently, there will no doubt be plenty more in the near future as Moyes continues to oversee one of the most successful periods in east London for decades.
