David Gold confirms he’d prefer Moyes to remain at West Ham

West Ham have a big decision to make in the coming weeks, as the board looks to appoint a new manager to lead improvements in the club.
The Hammers have struggled for stability since moving to the London Stadium and David Moyes failed to set the world alight during his short stint at the club.
Appointed in November as the successor to Slaven Bilic, Moyes achieved his minimum objective of keeping West Ham in the Premier League but fans weren’t entirely convinced by his performances.
Despite that, co-chairman David Gold has revealed he would prefer Moyes to remain in charge of the club – although he admitted he doesn’t know if he’ll stay on for next season.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Gold was asked if Moyes would stay and responded:
“I’d like to think it was David Moyes, I really hope so.”
“I’ve enjoyed David Moyes, I’ve enjoyed his company, I’ve enjoyed working with him, he’s a proper professional – his record speaks for himself.”
“As we speak David Moyes is on the list of managers and we’ll be selecting one in due course.”
