Career at West Ham

Crysencio Summerville joined West Ham from Leeds United in August 2024 for a reported fee of £25m.

The winger had a frustrating first season at London Stadium, registering just one goal and two assists in 22 first-team appearances. His only goal came in a 2-1 home win over Manchester United in October.

His debut season was cut short when he was forced off with a hamstring injury against Aston Villa in an FA Cup third-round clash in January 2025. It ultimately ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.

Summerville made his return to first-team action in August 2025, coming on as a substitute in a 3-0 away victory against Nottingham Forest. He made an instant impact in that game, assisting Jarrod Bowen‘s second-half opener before winning a penalty shortly afterwards.

He scored his first goal of the 2025/2026 season in a 2-1 FA Cup third-round win over QPR at London Stadium, ending a run of 28 West Ham appearances without a goal.

That strike would kickstart a run of five goals in as many games for Summerville, as Nuno Espirito Santo‘s West Ham tried to steer themselves away from relegation trouble.

He ended his second season at West Ham with seven goals and three assists, with his performances earning him a surprise call up to the Netherlands squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Contract & Transfer Situation

Summerville signed a five-year contract worth a reported £45k-a-week when he joined West Ham from Leeds United.

His form and appearances for the Hammers in his second season led to increased speculation about his future in east London, particularly following the club’s relegation to the Championship in May 2026.

Following confirmation of West Ham’s drop to England’s second tier, Summerville posted a passionate message on Instagram that suggested he might be willing to stay at the club to help win promotion back to the Premier League at the first time asking, signing off his message with: “The comeback starts now!”

Liverpool and Tottenham have both been linked with potential moves for the winger ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window.
