Andy Carroll has revealed his excitement at what his West Ham future could potentially bring now that he has signed a permanent deal with the club.

Carroll signed a six-year deal earlier this week to make his successful loan deal permanent, and he has explained that the lure of the Olympic Stadium and the chance to play under Sam Allardyce again were important factors behind his decision.

He told whufc.com: “It’s massive. The club’s only going one way and that’s what I want to be part of.

“The fans are never quiet here and it’s going to be even better at the Olympic Stadium when more people can fit in. I can’t wait.

“Sam is a great manager and a great man. I enjoyed working under him at Newcastle and here too, so speaking to him over the summer, he was happy with the way I was last season and I’m looking forward to working with him again.

“It’s always good when you have somebody who is behind you. He only gives me confidence to go out there and show what I’m about.”

And the 24-year-old striker also believes the move can help him boost his chances of representing England at next summer’s World Cup in Brazil, although he realises he will need to perform at a certain high level every week if he’s going to be selected.

“I want to keep fit, score goals and perform week-in week-out. If I do that hopefully I’ll get in to the England team,” he continued.

“If it comes with England, then it’ll come. Every footballer wants to win trophies too and I don’t see why we can’t the way our team is going.”
