West Ham’s £10million bid for Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony has been rejected, according to David Sullivan’s son Jack.

Sky Sports earlier claimed the Hammers had lodged a sensational bid to hijack Swansea City‘s move for the Ivory Coast international, instantly sparking questions from Hammers fans wondering whether the reports were legitimate or not.

However, Jack Sullivan has tweeted this evening that the club did indeed make a bid for Bony, but that it had been turned down and the club wouldn’t be signing him after all:

Meanwhile, reports are growing that the Hammers are close to securing a loan-deal for former West Ham striker Demba Ba, who appears to be surplus to requirements at Chelsea now that new boss Jose Mourinho has had the chance to settle back in at Stamford Bridge.
