It’s no secret that West Ham are looking to improve their striking options at the club this summer but fans may be concerned with one particular link.

Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge has been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium having fallen out of favour with Jurgen Klopp but his injury record is a huge concern.

The Hammers have endured their fair share of injury problems in attack this season and remain without Andy Carroll for the weekend’s clash with Stoke, which makes it understandable that fans may want a more reliable forward.

However, The Daily Express quotes West Ham boss Slaven Bilic as talking up the possibility of a swoop for the England international this summer.

“We are going to see. We have our list of strikers.”

“If you go back two or three seasons he was unbelievable. You can still see it when he plays.”

“He plays very rarely but I watched Stoke against Liverpool the other day. He came on and, with a couple of passes, he broke their defence. He split them up with that great pass.”

Despite his injury record, Sturridge could end up being a very expensive recruit for the Hammers as TransferMarkt values his services at £18.7m.
