After last week’s disappointing result at Hull City, what better way to pick ourselves up than a London derby with Spurs.

With most bets, whether it be Football, Horse Racing or any other sport, it always helps to know as much information as possible before placing the bet and, unfortunately with Sam Allardyce, he seems to be sticking with certain players that most fans would like to see replaced.

Each week we have all hoped he would try someone else in place of Modibo Maiga but he has started with him each time. Goals continue to be our problem and, once again, we need to hold our fire until we see or hear the starting line-up. My guess is it will be the same starting XI that played Hull and, if that’s the way it’s going to be, positive predictions are hard to come by.

Let’s look at our away stats:

  • West Ham have won 15%, drawn 25% and lost 60% of their last 20 away games.
  • West Ham have conceded in 14 of their last 20 away games, going on to win one, draw one and lose 12 of these matches.
  • The Hammers have failed to score in 50% of their last 20 away games.

Spurs v West Ham - Kick Off stats

Not the type of stats that fill us with confidence but the fact that it’s a big derby, and Spurs having played midweek, come kick-off we know The Hammers won’t be lacking effort or passion.

First & Last Goal scorer

With the lack of goals and a lack of strikers in the team we’ll once again look at the midfield for a goal. We can expect this game to be full of passion with two sets of supporters giving everything from the stands. Maybe a penalty is the way to go and Mark Noble at best priced 25/1 with BetFred. We are due a bit of luck from referees after a few penalty decisions going against us this season.

Mark Noble is also a best priced 9/1 with Ladbrokes for score anytime, which looks excellent value and keeps the bet alive until the final whistle, even in the event of having our backs against the wall for the entire 90 minutes.

Correct Score

Our defence has been holding out well and will need to be again this week against a strong forward line, but a 1-1 draw is not beyond us and at a best price of 8/1 with Coral, this might entice a few bets.

This week’s recommended bets are…

  • Mark Noble First or Last Goalscorer at 25/1.
  • Mark Noble anytime Goal Scorer at 9/1.

Remember, don’t let the Claret & Blue heart rule the head. It’s a long season.
