What a difference a week makes after Saturday’s win over Fulham and the surprise of us scoring three goals.

We can look at this game in a different light than in recent weeks. The stats aren’t impressive, but this time we are playing a team bottom of the league and looking like they will struggle for survival this season.

Palace v West Ham - Betting Preview

First and Last Goalscorer:

After the surprise of Sam playing a striker on Saturday, we can hope he will stick to the same formation against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night. We are going to take a gamble on him starting Carlton Cole after his goal on Saturday and his return to fitness, and at 15/2 for first or last goal, Cole worth the punt if he starts. If Sam starts with Modibo Maiga again, though, you can get him at 13/2.

Assist Market:

In the event of Carlton Cole starting, we like the chances of Stewart Downing or Matt Jarvis getting the first assist. If they can get the quality crosses in to feed Cole against a weak defence, goals look very likely.

Correct Score:

It’s likely to be a low scoring game, so 1-0 or 2-0 is what appeals here. You can generally get 1-0 at 13/2 and 2-0 at 11/1 with most layers. If anyone fancies a repeat of Saturdays 3-0 win, you can have 28/1 with Coral.

Round Up:

So it’s with a health check that we advise you to wait until you see the team announced and our bets this week are the following:

  • Carlton Cole first or last goalscorer at 15/2
  • 1-0  to West Ham at 13/2
  • If Carlton Cole starts we’re going for Stewart Downing with the first Assist

Remember, don’t let the Claret & Blue heart rule the head. It’s a long season.
