West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang has signed a new long-term contract, the club’s official website has confirmed.
Pedro Obiang enjoyed a brilliant season in 2016/17 and has committed his future to the East London club amid interest from other teams.
The 25-year-old puts pen to paper on a new five year deal, keeping him at the London Stadium until summer 2022.
The 2016/17 Hammer of the Year runner-up established himself as a regular in West Ham’s midfield last season after a difficult first year in England and will be looking to kick on now he has earned himself a contract renewal.
Despite growing increasingly frustrated and impatient with the lack of new signings this window, the majority of West Ham fans seemed to be pleased with this piece of news.
Here are a selection of the best responses after West Ham announced that Pedro Obiang had signed a new five year deal.
